Am drooling rite now here..irresistible aloo tikki, truly inviting..

Enjoy the famous street food aloo tikki when prepared at home with minimum oil with these aloo tikki in air fryer.
Aloo brings a smile to our faces. Most of us like this root. We try to incorporate this root in all possible ways in our menu. Here at my home, potato is used regularly in curry. We like the baby potatoes as in air fried baby potatoes. My daughter loves the potatoes fingers. I even use potato in the Christmas cake. Here potato is used as the eggless binder. So today I am making another favourite of my husband. It is the aloo tikki. However, wanted to give a twist to it. Hence am editing this old post to include both the shallow fried version and this aloo tikki in air fryer.
Aloo in hindi is the name of potato the versatile root. Tikki translates into patties. So, this is nothing but a simple patty make from potatoes. You can, however, add green peas and other vegetables to get the different variations. Today, I will show you how to make a simple aloo tikki in air fryer.
Not at all. We can bake these tikki’s in an oven. We can shallow fry them. This is a most loved variation. We all love the shallow fried street food aloo tikki. If you want to go low on oil then these can prepared in air fryer is the best option. You get a lovely crispy aloo tikki with a soft delicious inside.
We do not need any exotic ingredients to make this aloo tikki. We need potatoes, green peas, some dry masala like garam masala and chilli powder. The binder that we use here is rice flour. However, you can use corn flour as a binder too. Sometimes, when both of these flours are not available we can also used fresh bread.
To make this tiiki, we need to steam and cook the potatoes. I have steamed the potatoes in an instant pot. Add some water into the inner pot. Insert a trivet. Keep the washed and cleaned potatoes on it, Close the lid. Keep the vent in the sealing position. Pressure cook it on HIGH FOR 10 MINUTES.
I like to serve this tikki just as a patty with green chutney. We can make channa and serve as aloo tikki channa. One more variation of this chat is all tikki chat. Here, the tikki is served with some sweetened curd and topped with sev. All the varieties taste absolutely delicious.
