German Potato Salad is a common dish which you will find in most parts of Germany and this is served in Ocktoberfest which is the beer festival and hence this is the time when you should be in Munich if you will like to see these the celebration in Germany.
We happened to visit our daughter this September and we were lucky to witness the Germans celebrating this and we decided to join the fun too. Octoberfest is a beer festival and you and your family can enjoy this beer with some snacks . Potato salad was one vegetarian option of the snack that was available in most of the beer tents.
There were limited vegetarian options for the snacks like the grilled vegetables, German potato salad , pretzels and of course my daughter’s favourite desserrt- Apfelstrudel. We ordered a plate of the salad and grilled vegetables and it was delicious with a cup of coke:).
When Mallika Suggested the theme for this blog hop as fusion fiesta, I knew I would do an indo German fusion dish and Vibha prodded me to try the German potato salad with our own spices and I must say that the taste is unique and delicious. I have added our chat masala and a little bit of garam masala to the cooked potato to give the Indian flavour. You can serve this with a cup of hot chai!!If you are looking for the authentic recipe then it is here
