Here is another popular cake from Indian bakeries especially the Bangalore Iyengar bakeries. This honey cake is a basic eggless cake, soaked in a thin syrup of honey and sugar, topped with jam and some desiccated coconut. So basically it is loaded with sugar and definitely I should stay away from this. Did I??? Definitely no…..I did eat 3 pieces and still feel guilty about it but it brought back memories of my Karnataka days. I wonder why such cakes are not available any more. These are just yumm and you should try out this simple and easy cake. You can make use of any basic vanilla cake, with eggs or without and continue with the syrup and topping to make this delicious addictive honey cake

This cake won my heart , we all loved it when I made . Yes , you will see it at my space today .
Good that you had a few pieces of the cake , it’s come out beautiful , looks super spongy too . Difficult to resist such a cake , right ?

Every bake of your makes me drool. Our neighbour in Chennai owned an Iyengar bakery and we would get the first pick of all bakes! Looking at your bakes, I miss Chennai so much now! This one is amazing!

Honey cake looks so inviting Veena..Bhoooo..I didn’t get my share!…on the other hand, wonder why I never thought of this one, though its been on my list for a long time…I have never really tasted it myself as we don’t get eggless cakes in a local bakery, I have stood and enjoyed the lovely sight these make..:)

Oh God! How amazing does this cake looks. I should have been around when you baked these, so I would have taken your part of the cake. Happy me and not so guilty you! I am bookmarking to make this for my husband, who loves all the Indian bakery products 🙂
