Pav Bhaji Dip- sounds a little different , right? You may wonder how a street food gets this fusion makeover. Pav bhaji though typically grouped under street food, finds its way in most kids parties. They love to dig into the hot bhaji with dollops of butter. But I always felt that it turns a little messy too and Inspired by Tarla Dalal’s pav bhaji fondue, I tried out this dip without the cheese in it but with a smooth mixture of our own Bhaji. Pav bhaji dip has the exact flavour of the regular pav bhaji but is more easy and convenient to serve and relish too.

Pav Bhaji dip

Since I prepared the bhaji with all the vegetables and pav bhaji masala in the regular way, the taste and the flavour remains intact without any compromise. Grinding it to a smooth mixture and heating with a dollop of butter and fresh cream adds more creaminess and I realized that kids and adults tend to consume more if served this way. This is a fun way of serving our regular food.Kids also think it is fun to prick a tooth pick in a butter toasted pav piece and dig it generously into a smooth pav bhaji dip and slurp away to glory. One kid actually came to me and said it was heavenly. And from then on this is actually a must in the menu of parties at my place. If you are hosting a party, this will be a perfect starter and the bhaji can be prepared in advance making it less cumbersome and since I cook the bhaji in a pressure cooker, it saves a lot of time without any change in the taste or flavour. This recipe is a keeper for sure. Do try this and let me know your feedback

WOW, what an awesome idea to make dip out of pav bhaji. It’s perfect for my picky 10-year old, who would literally ‘pick’ out the veggies from the bhaji. This will be great for him. I’m going to try this one real soon for him 🙂
