Instant pot spicy mango thokku

  • Instant Pot


  • 3 Cups Grated mango
  • 1/4 Cup Gingelly oil
  • 3 Tbsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Asafoetida
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Fenugreek powder
  • To taste Salt


  • Remove the skin of the raw mango
  • Grate the mango. I use the food processor to grate as it saves me a lot of time.
  • Put the instant pot on the saute mode
  • Add mustard seeds.
  • Once the mustard seeds start to splutter, add the grated mango.
  • Now cancel the saute mode
  • Add the turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt
  • Close the lid of the instant pot. Keep the vent in the SEALING position and pressure cook it for 3 minutes.
  • Once it is pressure-cooked, let the pressure release normally. Open the instant pot when all the pressure has released.
  • Mix well and put it on saute mode for 3 minutes and mix well. Add the fenugreek powder, mix well. Check if there is still some moisture left. If yes then continue to saute for another 2 minutes
  • Switch off the instant pot
  • Store it in the refrigerator after it cools down completely in an airtight bottle.
