Instant pot mixed fruit jam without pectin is an easy way to make homemade delicious jam and has a lovely texture prepared without any preservatives.

Ingredients
  

  • 1000 gms Mixed fruit Papaya, mango, strawberry, pear, apple, banana, guava
  • 500 gms Sugar
  • 3 Lemons

Instructions
 

  • Chop all the fruits into small cubes and weigh it. Here I have used Mango, papaya, Banana, Pear, Strawberry and apple
  • Add half the amount of sugar to this and mix well and let it rest for 20 minutes. This ensures that all the juices are mixed well
  • Next close the lid of the instant pot, keep the vent in the sealing position and pressure cook it for 3 minutes
  • Let the pressure release naturally.
  • Open the lid and put it in Saute mode.
  • Squeeze the lemon juice into the cooked fruits.
  • Keep mashing with a masher and continue to cook till there is no moisture left.
  • It took 30 minutes for me. This time will depend on the fruits which you have used
  • Do keep stirring in between every now and then so that there is no charring at the base
  • Switch off the instant pot and let it cool completely
  • Once completely cool, transfer it to the sterilised bottle and keep it airtight
  • Since we do not add any preservatives, keep it in the refrigerator.

Notes

  1. Use fruits which are high in pectin as suggested
  2. The jam to cook the jam in saute mode will depend on the juices released by the fruits. Hence put in saute mode for 10 mins in the beginning and keep increasing if needed. I had to put it in saute mode for 30 minutes for the amounts of juice that the fruits had released
  3. Keep stirring to avoid charring at base
