Clean and wash the beet greens with stem. Cut them finely.
Dice the onions and tomatoes finely
Grind the garlic, ginger and green chilly together into a fine paste
Switch ON the Nutri-Pot
Add the oil. Put the nutri-pot in the SAUTE MODE
Add Cumin seeds and let it sizzle. Then add the asafoetida
Now add the ginger garlic chilli paste and sauté for few seconds
Next add the chopped onions and sauté till it begins to brown
Now add the tomatoes and mix well and continue to cook for few seconds
Now add the chopped greens of the beet and mix well and cook for few seconds
Now add the turmeric powder, chillipowder, daniya powder , Garam masala and salt and mix well
Add the washed and drained dal
Add enough water to cook this dal. I add to the level of the dal
CANCEL THE SAUTE MODE. Close the lid and put the vent in SEAL POSITION. SWITCH ON THE DAL MODE AND LET IT COOK
Once it has cooked, it will go into keep warm mode. CANCEL IT AND LET THE PRESSURE RELEASE NATURALLY
Mix well. Add fresh coriander and lemon juice. Mix well and serve warm with rice or roti
