Equipment

  • Gas stove/ Induction stove

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 Cup Ragi flour
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 2 Cups Buttermilk
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida
  • Few Curry leaves
  • 1 Green chilly
  • To taste Salt

Instructions
 

  • Roast the flour for few minutes
  • Add water to it and whisk well
  • Cook on low flame till it is well cooked and starts to thicken. Switch off the flame and let it cool completely
  • Mix it well with the buttermilk.
  • Add required amount of salt and asafoetida and whisk well
  • Heat the oil in a small pan and add the mustard seeds. Once it splutters add it to the prpared kanji.
  • Cut the curry leaves into small pieces and add them to the kanji and serve.
