Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Broken wheat
  • 1/4 Cup Tuvar dal
  • 2 Cups Mixed vegetables beans, carrot, peas, capsicum, radish
  • 2 tsp Tamarind paste
  • 3 Cups Water
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustartd seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
  • Few Curry leaves
  • 2 tsp Sambar powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • To Taste Salt

Instructions
 

  • Soak the dal in warm water for 30 minutes
  • Mix the tamarind paste in the given amount of waterand keep aside
  • Cut all the vegetables into small pieces preferablyevenly
  • Heat the oil in a pressure cooker. I have used a 3lt cooker here
  • Add the mustard seeds. Once it starts to splutter,reduce the heat and add all cut vegetables, mix well.
  • Now add the tamarind water, broken wheat, soaked dal,sambhar powder, Coriander powder , curry leaves, asafetida and salt.
  • Mix well.Close with the lid, put on weight on and cook onhigh till 3 whistles.
  • Switch off the fire. Let the pressure cooker cool completely.
  • Open carefully, mix everything, serve warm with appalam and raita of your choice
