Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and fry the cashew till it becomes golden brown, take them out in a plate and keep aside.
Add the rest of the ghee to the same pan and add the rava and roast it till it starts to become golden brown. Here all the ghee is absorbed by the rava
Now add the hot water and stir well as it tends to become lumpy at this stage
Once all the water is absorbed, add the sugar to this and mix well. I prefer to use a whisk so that the lumps aren’t formed. You will observe that the mixture starts to become a little watery.
Now add the yellow colour, cardamom powder and saffron strands soaked in milk, mix well and let it simmer till it starts to thicken up. After 3-4 minutes, it would have reached the required consistency. Switch off the stove
Add the fried nuts to the prepared sheera, mix well and offer it to the goddess and then serve to others.
