Ingredients
  

  • 2 Tbsp Green gram dal
  • 2 Tbsp Rice
  • 1 Cup Water For cooking Rice ad dal
  • 1/2 Cup Jaggery
  • 1/4 Cup Water For dissolving the jaggery
  • 1 pinch Cardamom powder
  • 1 Tbsp Ghee
  • 5 Cashew
  • 5 Raisins

Instructions
 

  • Take 2 tsp of ghee in 1 lt pressure cooker. Heat it on low
  • Now add the dal and rice to this and roast it till a good flavour comes
  • Now add 1 cup water to this, mix well , close the pressure cooker, put the weight on and cook on high for 4 whistles. Let it cool completely
  • Meanwhile add 1/4 cup water to the jaggery and heat it on low flame till the jaggery dissolves. Strain it through a strainer and remove the dirt which might be there. Transfer it to a small pan or bowl and heat it till it start to thicken. Switch off the fire and keep aside
  • Now if the pressure is completely released from the cooker, open the lid carefully. Mash the rice dal mixture well and add the jaggery to it. Let it boil for 2 minutes. Add cardamom and mix well
  • Now add the milk, boil for 1 minute and switch off the fire
  • Heat the remaining ghee in a pan and fry the cashew and raisins till it starts to brown and pour it on the prepared payasam. Neivedhyam is ready
