Spring Onion Dal/ Scallion Dal
Day 2 of Delicious Dal marathon and I am here with another interesting Dal-Spring Onion Dal.The combination of scallions and mixed dals is very interesting,flavorful and tasty as well.
INGREDIENTS
Spring Onion 2 bunches
Green gram dhal 1/4 cup
Tuvar dhal 1/4 cup
Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
Chilli Powder 1 tsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Garam Masala 1 tsp
Oil 2 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Salt to taste
PREPARATION
Clean and cut the spring onions into very small bits
Heat a pressure pan with the oil.
When the oil is heated up, add the cumin seeds for it to sizzle.
Next goes in the spring onions whites. Saute it till it becomes transparent.
Now add all the dry powders and mix well.
To this add the spring onion greens and mix well.
Dunk in the washed dhals together with enough watr to cover the mixture. Mix well
Cover with the lid and cook upto 3-4 whistles or till done.
When the pressure has released, remove the lid,add enecessary salt, mix well and cook it on low flame for 5 minutes.
Now you have a very healthy tasty dhal ready to be served with rotis or a bowl of rice
