Paanagam

Sri Rama Navami is a festival to celebrate the birth of Lord Sri Rama. This festivals falls in the Shukla Paksha on the Navami, the ninth day of the month of Chaitra in the Hindu Calender. At Bhadrachalam, the Sitarama Kalyanam, the ceremonial wedding of Lord Rama and Sita are held amidst fanfare. We too celebrate his birth at home and the neivedhyam is neer moru, and Paanagam. This year Rama Navami falls on April 20th 2013
INGREDIENTS
Jaggery 1/2 cup
Water 1 1/2 cup
Lemon Juice 1tsp
Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp
Dry ginger powder 1/2 tsp
Salt a pinch
PREPARATION
Mix everything together in a bowl till the jaggery dissolves completely
Strain it through a muslin cloth to remove the dirt from the jaggery
