I am always on look out for savory snacks and this is a great one for the evenings. Love this recipe and excited that it can be made in the paniyaram pan.

I love the starters in the Gujarati thali. Whenever we went out for lunch to the Gujarati resturant here, we would mostly eat the farsan like we eat the main course. Most of the times the main course is skipped and one of them is Dakor na Gota. I had seen this non fried version of this recipe in Vidya’s Blog earlier and had bookmarked it and totally forgot about this recipe. Her pictures of this recipe post was very captivating and some day I thought I will cook this. Then it just happened that I joined the recipe swap challenge group of facebook, where members are paired and each has to cook and blog one recipe from the members blog. I was incidentally paired with Vidya who blogs at Masalachilli and I knew what I had to cook from her blog.

What appealed to me the instant I saw this recipe on her blog is that it was not the traditional fried version but the appe version where these are fried in minimal oil using the appe pan. I have earlier tried medhu vadai in this and it was tasting just the same as the fried one but the oil used was much less and I knew this version of Dakor na gota would taste as much the same . Vidya thank you for this recipe. Loved it.
