Beaten rice flakes or avalakki or aval is the best option when you want to snack and have certain diet restrictions. The dry mixture made from beaten rice flakes is very tasty, easy on the stomach and can be prepared in very less time. We can serve this with tea at tea time for the light hunger pangs.

Heat oil in a pan |

Add mustard seeds. Once they splutter add red chillies and curry leaves and saute till the curry leaves become crisp |

Put the peanuts roasted gram dal and raisins in this hot oil and saute till the raisins plump up |

Now add asafoetida, turmeric powder, chilli powder and saute for few seconds |

Now add the beaten flakes, mix well. Add salt, mix well and switch off the fire |

Let it cool completely. Store it in air tight container |
