Dal Palak

Back with blogging Marathon;-). For the first week I have chosen the theme”Delicious Dals.To start this marathon I have chosen Palak dal with all the goodness of Palak/Spinach and dal as well.
Palak/Spinach 2 bunches
Tuvar dhal 1/4 cup
Gram dhal 1/4 cup
Green chillies 3-4
Onion 1
Ginger 1/4 ” piece
Garam Masala 2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Oil 2 tsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Cut the onion, chillies and ginger finely.
Clean the spinach, cut only the leaves and wash it and keep it aside
Heat a pressure pan with the oil. Add cumin seeds to it. When it starts to sizzle add the onion and saute till it becomes transparent.
Now add the chiilies and ginger and saute for 1 minute.
Now add the cut palak and continue to cook in a very medium flame.
Now add the chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and then add the washed dals to this. Mix well.
Add enough water to cover the dals , mix well and pressure cook it upto 3 whistles.
When the pressure is fully released, open the lid, add salt and mix well.
cook in a very low flame for 5 inutes.
Sere warm with rotis/chapathi
