Lauki Kofta curry without Onion and Garlic

For the final day of gravies without onion and
garlic is a kofta based gravy.This  is a
very soft delicious kofta made of lauki and cooked in a tomato based gravy
INGREDIENTS
Adapted from Veg Recipes Of India
FOR THE KOFTA
Grated
Lauki
1
cup
Gram
flour
2tbsp
Chilli
powder
1tsp
Garam
Masala
1/2tsp
Salt
to
taste
Oil
For
deep frying
FOR THE GRAVY
Tomatoes
3
Ginger
green chilli paste
2tsp
Chilli
powder
1tsp
Coriander
powder
2tsp
Garam
Masala
1tsp
Salt
To
taste
Oil
1tbsp
Bay
leaf
1
Cinnamon
1”
piece
Clove
2
Coriander
1tbsp
PREPARATION
Wash and remove the skin of the bottle gourd, Grate
it finely. Squeeze it to remove the excess water. Keep aside the water too
Now add the gram flour, salt, garam masala and
chilli powder to this.
Mix well and pinch small balls and  roll it.
Deep fry all of these till they are golden brown in
colour and keep aside
FOR THE GRAVY
Blanch the tomatoes, peel the skin and puree it
Heat oil in a pan. Add the clove, cinnamon an and
bay leaf and saute for 1 minute
Now add the ginger paste and saute
Now add the tomoto puree and continue to cook in low
flame for 2 minutes
Add chilli powder , coriander powder and salt , mix
well and continue to cook for 3 minutes
Finally add the garam masala, let it boil for 1
minute
Just before seving add the koftas to the prepared
gravy, heat for 1 minute .
Switch it off and serve warm with roti!
NOTE: Add water if the consistency of the gravy is
too thick and cook it for few minutes
