Malai Kofta

After 2 days of blogging about rich gourmet gravies, let me continue it the third day with Malai Kofta. These soft delicious kofta’s are fried and served with this tasty gravy. Another perfect match for the Indian breads.
INGREDIENTS
FOR THE KOFTA
Paneer 1/2 cup
Potato 2
Beans few
Carrot 1
Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala 1/2 tsp
Corn flour 2tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
FOR THE GRAVY
Onion 2
Tomato 3
Ginger garlic paste 1tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1tsp
Cumin powder 1tsp
Garam masala 1tsp
Cashew powder 3tsp
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Fresh cream 1tbsp
Fresh coriander 1tbsp
Oil 1tbsp+1tsp
Salt to taste
PREPARATION
FOR THE KOFTA
Cook all the vegetables
Mash everything. Mix paneer, chilli powder, garam masala and salt with this.
Make small balls, roll on the corn flour and deep fry them till light brown. Keep it aside
FOR THE GRAVY
Slice the onions thinly
Cut the tomatoes finely
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan.
Now add the onions to this and saute till it starts to brown
Add the ginger garlic paste and saute again for 1 minute
Now add the cut tomatoes and continue to cook in medium flame till the tomatoes becom mushy
Switch off the fire and let it cool
Once it is completely cooled grind it into a smooth paste
Heat the remaining 1 tsp oil in a pan.
Add cumin seeds and when it sizzles add the ground paste and saute for 1 minute
Now add the turmeric, chilli, coriander and cumin seed powders. Mix well and cook
Now add salt and grama masala, mix well and add just enough water for the gravy consistency. Let it thicken a little
Now sprinkle the cashew powder and add the fried koftas
Let it simmer for 5 minutes in a low flame
Add fresh coriander and fresh cream and serve hot with roti’s
