Ribbon Pakoda

For this week of Bm#33 I have chosen festive dishes and here is a simple snack mostly prepared during diwali. There are many recipes of ribbon pakoda ,and here is mine:-)
Gram flour       1 cup
Rice flour         1/2 cup
Hot oil              1 tbsp
Butter                1 tbsp
Chilli powder    1tsp
Salt                     to taste
Water                  for kneading
Oil                      for deep frying
Mix both the flours, chilli powder and salt together in a plate

Add the hot oil to it. Mix with a spoon.

Now add the butter and mix well
Add just enough water and knead it into a smooth dough

Pinch medium sized balls from this and roll it into a oblong shape
Put that into the murukku press with the ribbon disc

Heat oil in a heat and when sufficiently hot, press the murukku press, and see to it that it fills the oil surface.

Let it brown a little, flip it over and cook again in medium flame till the other side browns and the sizzling stops
Take it out and keep it on a perforated plate
Let it cool
Keep it in a airtight box!
