Kuthiraivali Payasam /Barnyard Millet Payasam

 Millet Payasam is more healthy and tastier than the regular Payasam. So here is another prasadam that can be offered during Navarathri
INGREDIENTS
Barnyard Millet       1/3 cup
Milk                        500 ml
Sugar                      1/3 cup or more as per taste
Saffron                   few strands
Ghee                       1tbsp
Cashew                    few
Raisins                     few

PREPARATION
Heat 2 tsp of ghee in a pan and roast the cashews and raisins in it. Keep it aside
Now add the rest of the ghee to the pan and roast the millet in it till a nice flavour comes out
Soak the saffron in 1 tbsp of warm milk. Keep it aside
Add the milk to this roasted millet and let the millet cook in this milk for 5 minutes
Add the sugar and the saffron milk,mix well and let it cook for another 1 minute
Switch off the fire
Add the roasted nuts to this and delicious payasam is ready
