Paneer Butter Masala Without Onions And garlic

When Valli announced the theme of No onion No garlic
side dish, I decided that I will challenge myself to cook this theme. I always
felt that onion and garlic is a must for most of the north indian gravies ,
tried a classic north indian restaurant style Paneer buteer Masala without
onions and garlic and No one at home believed that it was cooked without onion
or garlic. Here is the simple recipe for the same.
INGREDIENTS
Paneer
200 gmS
Tomato puree
From 3
tomatoes
Coriander powder
2 tsp
Red chilli powder
2tsp
Cashew
12
Cloves
2
Cinnamon
1″
piece
Bay leaf
1
Butter
1 tbsp
Kasuri methi
2 tbsp
Fresh cream
1 tbsp
Oil
1 tsp
Salt
To taste
Warm Milk
3tbsp

PREPARATION
Soak the cashews in warm milk for ½ hour.
Grind it into a smooth paste
Blanch the tomatoes in hot water.
Remove the skin and puree it. Keep it aside
Heat oil and butter in a pan
Add the bay leaf, cinnamon and cloves
and saute for 1 minute
Now add the pureed tomatoes into it
and cook in low flame for 3-4 minutes
Now add chilli powder and coriander
powder. Mix well and continue to cook in low flame for another 2 minutes
Now add the ground cashew paste, mix
well
Sprinkle the garam masala and salt.
Mix well. Now cook for approximately 3 minutes
Add diced paneer , kasuri methi and
water if the consistency is thick. Let it cook for few minutes

Garnish with fresh cream and coriander
and serve warm
