Chole

Hi
Everyone at home loves chole and I have been
following this recipe from PJ’s blog and this is a hit at home.
INGREDIENTS
Chickpeas
1cup
Tomatoes
2
Onion
1
Ginger
garlicn paste
 1tsp
Coriander
powder
2tsp
Cumin
seeds
 1tsp
Chilli
powder
1tsp
Thick
tamarind extract
1tbsp
Bayleaf
1
Oil
1tbsp
Tea
bag
1
Salt
To
taste
PREPARATION
Soak the chickpeas overnight. Cook them in pressure
cooker till soft with the tea bag and the bay leaf. Keep it aside
Chop the onions and tomatoes finely
Heat the oil in a pan and once it is a little hot
add the cumin seeds.
When the cumin seeds start to sizzle add the chopped
onions and saute till they become transparent.
Now add the ginger garlic paste and saute for
another minute
Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook till it
becomes mushy
Sprinkle the coriander powder, chilli powder, thick
tamarind extract and cook for a minute
Now add the cooked chickpea discarding the tea bag
and the bay leaf
Add some water and cook till everything comes
together
Mash some chickpea with the ladle to thicken the
consistency of the gravy
Serve hot with bhatura or roti
