This post is very special to me. Special for three different reasons. Tomato onion chutney might look like a very simple dish. But this was taught to by my son. When I was down with high fever, he prepared this chutney and idli after a hectic day. The taste was so good and I from then on I have been preparing this regularly. The next reason is, this post has my first video. The reason is none other than Radha Natarajan who blogs at Your everyday cook, and a very dear friend. She is instrumental in pushing me to try a video recipe. Thank you, Radha. Finally, Vibha who is miles away is my best critic. Though this is not a very refined video, she has been constantly trying her best to guide me to publish this video. I hope you like this video and find it useful.
TOMATO ONION CHUTNEY
This is a chutney loaded with flavours. The mint, curry leaves, coriander and ginger gives a burst of flavours. This chutney can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator. This chutney can be served with idli and dosai. I served it with Samba Rava adai. The speciality of this chutney is that some of the herbs can be excluded if not available. We can add methi leaves to make it into a different chutney. The sky is the limit. The other chutney which you can serve with idli and dosai are Murugan idli shop daniya chutney, Tomato chutney, coconut chutney

The video has turned out great Veena. Only suggestin would be to have the camera little higher so that it doesn’t’ get foggy. Otherwise its really good one. The chutney sounds very different. I haven’t added all three herbs together. Will try. You have a good chef in your son..:)
