Tonight for my dinner, it is a simple healthy one
pot dish with broken wheat and loads of vegetables. As it is prepared in a
pressure cooker, the time to prepare this healthy dish is very less and nutritious
too. The vegetables used are completely based on individual taste. You can add
any number of vegetables that you like to cook this very tasty one pot meal

INGREDIENTS
Broken
Wheat

Tuvar
dal
¼
cup
Vegetables(beans,
carrot, peas, capsicum, raddish)

cups
Tamarind
Paste
2
Tsp
Water
3
cups
Oil
1tsp
Mustard
seeds
½
tsp
Asafoetida
¼
tsp
Curry
leaves
Few
Sambhar
Powder
2
tsp
Coriander
Powder
1tsp
Salt
To
Taste
PREPARATION
Soak the dal in warm water for 30 minutes
Mix the tamarind paste in the given amount of water
and keep aside
Cut all the vegetables into small pieces preferably
evenly
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker. I have used a 3
lt cooker here
Add the mustard seeds. Once it starts to splutter,
reduce the heat and add all cut vegetables, mix well.
Now add the tamarind water, broken wheat, soaked dal,
sambhar powder, Coriander powder , curry leaves, asafetida and salt.
Mix well
Close with the lid, put on weight on and cook on
high till 3 whistles.
Switch off the fire. Let the pressure cooker cool completely.

 

Open carefully, mix everything, serve warm with
appalam and raita of your choice

  • 1 Cup Broken wheat
  • 1/4 Cup Tuvar dal
  • 2 Cups Mixed vegetables beans, carrot, peas, capsicum, radish

  • 1/2 tsp Mustartd seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
  • Few Curry leaves

  • To Taste Salt
