Lauki Chana Dal in Instant Pot
Lauki chana dal in instant pot is a very delicious bottle gourd or lauki with lentil curry. This dal pairs very well with both roti and rice.

Lauki Channa dal in instant pot is a very delicious dal prepared from chana dal and bottle gourd in an instant pot. The ease with which we can cook dishes in an instant pot or any electric pressure cooker makes it very interesting.
Lauki Chana Dal:
This Indian styled lentil recipe pairs perfectly with both rice and roti. In this recipe, the main ingredient is chana dal. That is the dal which gives a very rustic flavour to the curry. The addition of the vegetable makes it more healthy and tasty. In this recipe, we can make it spicier by adding more green chillies as mentioned in the recipe. If you do not have bottle gourd then you can still go ahead and make this recipe with Zucchini which also gives a similar taste.
Preparation of Lauki Chana Dal in Instant pot:
Pressure cookers are a part of the kitchen in most Indian homes. Now the electric pressure cookers are taking over the traditional ones. I also love to cook most of the dishes in my electric pressure cooker like the instant pot and Nutri pot. This is because it cooks very quickly and efficiently like the traditional pressure cookers without the noise of the whistles. With absolutely no babysitting over the cooking time, we will have the dishes ready.
This is how I prepare the dal in the instant pot. Cut all the vegetables and keep it ready. Heat oil in the instant pot and put it into the saute mode. Next, add the onions and let it saute for a minute. Next goes in the green chillies and tomato. I continue to saute for another minute. Now I will be adding in the dry masala powders and give it a good mix. After adding the bottle gourd and the soaked dal, I will just add enough water to cook. Adding salt, I will close the instant pot and put the vent in the sealing position and cook for 10 minutes. After the natural pressure release, if there is some water left, I will continue to cook in saute mode, so that the water evaporated and the dal becomes a little mushy. Next, I will prepare and add tadka. Is it not an easy way to cook this delicious dal.
Lauki Dal in a Pressure cooker
If you do not have an instant pot, you can use the same instructions and recipe to cook in other pressure cookers. I use the Indian electric pressure cooker Nutripot to make this dal and other deals like beet greens dal. We can use the healthy pot too. But if you do not have any electric pressure cooker, then feel free to use the same recipe with our traditional pressure cooker. Make sure you use more water for cooking while cooking in the traditional pressure cooker.
Other dal recipe which you can cook similarly:
The other deals that you can cook similarly are methi dal ambat, Pursalane dal or Paruppu keerai, Kandeshi dal, Dal tadka and Murunga keerai paruppu kadaiyal
