Fresh turmeric is beneficial to our health. Hence it is advised to consume small quantities of turmeric everyday. Indian cuisine generally uses turmeric in our day to day cooking. The antiseptic property exhibited by the turmeric finds it use in the field of medicine too. You can go on elaborating it use . I have used fresh turmeric in pickles, Turmeric dosai and in this soup
Here in this fresh turmeric carrot soup, I have used the fresh turmeric which my friend sent it to me. The quantity of fresh turmeric used in this soup depends on your individual taste.

Remove the skin of the turmeric and carrot. Chop into small pieces. Slice the onion finely and keep aside |

In a small pressure cooker add the onion, turmeric, carrot and enough water. Cover with th lid, put on the weight and cook in high flame upto 2 whistles. Switch off the fire and let it cool completely |

Now grind it into smooth paste |

Transfer the smooth paste to the pressure cooker. Add the milk and necessary water to get the required consistency. Add salt and pepper and boil on low flame for few minutes. Switch off the fire and serve warm |

Never cooked with fresh turmeric and soup is quite appetizing.
I have used fresh turmeric to make a pickle , that’s it ! Nothing beyond that but this soup looks so soothing with its pretty colour and texture .
