Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
1/3 cup Quinoa
2/3 cups Water
2 tsp Ghee
1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
2 Cardamom
1 Bay leaf
1 tsp Garam masala
1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
1 Green chilly
1 Onion
2 tbsp Fresh coriander
2 tbsp Fresh fenugreek seeds
2 tbsp Green peas
To Taste Salt

Today is the day for alphabet H in the A-Z series of pulavs and biriyanis with millets. H is for hariyali or green pulav. In this hariyali quinoa pulav, I have not used the regular green masala which is ground as a paste instead I have used a lot of fresh coriander, fenugreek leaves with green peas. This is a simple hariyali quinoa pulav to make and is full of flavour

Hariyali Quinoa Pulav

 

Steps

Slice the onions. Cut the chillies finely

Wash the quinoa and soak it in water for 10 minutes

Heat the ghee in a pan. Add the cumin seeds and the whole masala

Add the sliced onions and saute till it becomes transparent. Add green chillies and ginger garlic paste

Now add the drained quinoa, fresh coriander, methi leaves and mix well.

Add water, salt and garam masala, mix well

Close the lid, put the weight on and cook upto 3 whistles.

Let the pressure release normally. Fluff it up with a fork. Serve with raita.

Quinoa version makes it a healthier pulao. The addition of methi and cilantro must have made this extra flavorful..
I think there is a typo about fenugreek in the ingredients’ list.

Awesome share. I made something similar but using mint and coriander. Did not even think of using methi leaves. I would say a good way to make fussy eaters eat some methi. Looks Delicious
