Breakfast is an important meal of the day. Generally, it has some amount of carbohydrates and protein to take care of the energy needed for the day. For us South Indians, the choice is huge. Ranging from a variety of idli’s, dosai, appam aapam the list in endless. Most of south Indians will have a batch of this idli dosai batter in the refrigerator all the time since we all know that if all else fails, there is still some batter to the rescue. Jokes apart, some days despite proper planning we end up wondering what we could make for breakfast and at such times, the instant ones are our saviour.
This instant rava appe, which is a distant cousin of our paniyaram does not need much preparation and ingredients. This works out well when we do not have the time to ferment the batter. The souring agent is the curd used in this recipe. Together with some onions and green chillies it works like magic. I have adapted this recipe from One hot stove.
