









Is it fesval time. The festival of harvest and I am here with yet another form of pongal. Here instead of the regular rice in the ven pongal, I have used samba rava. So this is a pongal variety for thosse weight watchers who are worried about the intake of rice. The method is similar to that of the regular pongal and this is cooked in a pressure cooker. So it will be ready with 10 minutes and is best served with kathrikai gothsu

Coarsely powder the pepper and cumin |

Heat the ghee in a base of a pressure pan. Add the cashew and fry till it becomes brown. Take it out and keep aside |

To this add the moong dal and fry on low flame for 3-4 minutes |

Add the washed rava, water and milk. Mix well |

Add the ginger, salt and curry leaves. |

Add the coarsely crushed pepper and cumin. Mix well |

Close the lid and cook for 3-4 whistles. Let the pressure subside |

Open the lid. Mash well. add the fried cashew, Mix well and serve with gothsu |
