The theme for Shhh cooking secretly for the month was of October was to cook and blog a dish from the state of Madhya pradesh. I have been paired with sujatha shukla who blogs at Pepperonpizza. The secret ingredients that I suggested to her was corn and salt and she came up with the delicious Makai ki Subzi. It was Sujatha’s turn to suggest the secret ingredients and she suggested that I cook with Flour and chilly from state of Madhya pradesh and I decided to make this Dal Bafla

FOR THE BAFLAMix the flour, rava, salt, ajwain and turmeric powder in a wide plate. Add ghee to this and mix well. It should resemble the texture like bread crumbs. Now add enough water to knead it into a fiem dough. Pinch even sized balls and roll it well. Flatten it a little and keep aside |

|
Boil enough water and add these balls one by one and let it cook till it starts to float. Slowly take out each one with a slotted spoon and drain it well. Let it dry completely |

Now heat a tava and add little ghee to it and roast these baflas slowly till it starts to brown on one side. Now flip over and let it roast on the other side as well. Roast all the bafla and keep aside. You can chose to bake these too. |

Dal bafla looks so inviting. I definitely will be featuring this dish on my dining table pretty soon. Filling and satisfying dish.
The combo is excellent and quite filling too with all the ingredients involved. This is very similar to Dal baati but unique in some ways with the regional touch. Lovely clicks Veena.
