Snacks!! That is a part of our daily meal. Everyone likes to snack on. We all would love to snack on potato chips, deep fried snacks and everything that is so tempting. But the flip side is when the deep fried ones are taken in quantities more than what we should, it will have an adverse effect on our health. So what we should be aware while making or buying a snack is the quantity that could be consumed. Often, Chips are the option of snack wherein you will not be able to control the portion. In such a scenario where there is a chance to consume more fats which are not healthy, we could easily opt to make healthy chips. Air fryer is a boon for such occasions. These air-fried masala apple chips fits the bill of healthy snacking perfectly,
I do not believe in totally cutting out the deep fried snacks that we have been traditionally been making. Our ancestors and generations previous to ours definitely made and savoured the deep-fried snacks too, I have enjoyed them in my childhood too, specifically the Mangalore buns. But then they insisted on a limited quantity. They made sure we had the necessary physical exercise to burn out those calories. And most important of all they didn’t make it often. They times it well between deep fried and other healthy options. With our growing health concerns, I would rather stick to non-fried snacks especially as we age. So these air-fried masala apple chips is one of the options for healthy snacking
Featuring apple-based recipes is sure to surprise my family. For some strange reason, I do not like this fruit so much. But then I do feel hungry between meals and some chips I love to have some crispies. Knowing the health benefits of apples, I would rather eat apple chips than potato chips. Of late I am not so in for anything with a sweet touch. So I decided that I will air fry them with a touch of masala and spice it up with chilli powder. You can core the apple and cut it into thin slices with a sharp knife too.
Make sure you wash the apples very well to remove the wax coating. You can choose to use any variety that is available to use, I have used the green apples here. It is very easy to get this snack together. Cut the apples. Mix with spices. Air fry them. Let it cool, then snack on them and store the remaining ones in an airtight box.
