I have been on a fat loss journey and when I eat food that pertains to the macros that I am allowed, I see the result of fat loss. But then it is quite a meagre amount of fat that is allowed in my diet. Most of the times, I am quite ok with it and am happy with this fat loss journey. But when there are special days like festivals and I have to cook the elaborate meal with sweets and vadai, I am sort of tempted to have the vadai. However, I would still want to limit myself within the given allowance of fat. On such days the healthy paruppu vadai in air fryer comes to my rescue.

Healthy paruppu vadai in air fryer

HOW DOES THE AIR FRYER WORK

The air fryer is small kitchen equipment which circulates hot air in its chamber. The heat is generated from the heating element and a fan ensures that the heat is circulated and distributed evenly. This ensures that the food is heated at a high temperature equally giving an even crispy crust. I use Phillips Air fryer and most of the air fryers work on this principle. Since there is a basket in which the food to be air fried is kept, the holes in the basket help in the food getting cooked from below as well. It is always advisable to flip the food half away through the cooking process for even cooking. This is the how I air-fried this healthy paruppu vadai in air fryer

Paruppu Vadai In Air Fryer

If you a looking at using negligible of no oil in making vadai, air fried method is the best. The healthy paruppu vadai in air fryer comes out crispy and there is no compromise in the taste too. The trick is to make the batter thick and not watery. If you like crispy vadai with the texture of the lentils intact like me, then reserve some whole lentils after it is soaked. Grind the rest in a coarse paste. Then mix both and make the vadai to that crunchy vadai.
