Onion Pakodas in philips air fryer is one of the most delicious air fried snacks. Some people like deep-fried pakodas only while others like me vouch for the air fried onion pakodas. You can relish these crunchy snacks without feeling guilty about consuming too much oil. Well, I prefer these air fried onion pakodas because my health and diet do not allow me to use much oil. If you are able to use more oil, then go ahead with the deep-fried version and enjoy. Either way, these are some lovely crunchy snacks.

Why do we need to air fry?

Air fryer works on the principle of connection. Here hot air is circulated and the food kept in it gets baked. This definitely cannot be compared to conventional frying. In air frying we do not use oil to fry at all. Here the air at high temperature does the trick of making the food crunchy. There is not much difference in the crunches except for the oil taste. So yes, If you want to avoid using much oil and not feeling guilty about it, then do try these air fried onion pakodas.

Can we add other vegetables to make pakodas in air fryer?

Yes we can add the vegetables that we usually add to our pakodas. I like to use cabbage and beetroot to make these pakodas. Add banana blossom to make vadai. Use green to make greens pakoda do. The best one to air fry is this onion pakoda in Philips air fryer. Pairs perfectly with a cup of coffee or tea.

Which air fryer do we use?

I have been using Philips air fryer successfully to make many air-fried snacks. But you can choose to use any fryer that is available to you. All air fryer work on the same principle of circulating the hot air to cook food. Hence air frying the onion pakodas in any air fryer will give similar results.

The other snacks that can be air fried:

We can air fry many snacks in air fryer. Like the paruppu vadai. This consumes nearly zero oil compared to the deep-fried version. We can roast nuts without any oil for the quick healthy snack like the roasted almonds. We can make some healthy snacks with vegetables like the honey roasted carrots which are very delicious. Chips cannot be left behind. Try these crunchy banana chips and the crunchy pavakai chips too. Finally, we can even make some delicious desserts like cakes and Baked nectarine.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

  • To Taste Salt

Instructions

  • Slice the onions finely.
  •  Chop the green chillies into small pieces
  • Cut the coriander finely
  • Mix gram flour and rice flour in a bowl.
  •  Add oil to this and mix well
  • Now add turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt, Ajwain to this and mix well

Notes

  • Make the balls small and then air fry these to get crunchy pakodas.
  • Larger balls tend to have a raw taste inside.
  • Do not add more water as more water makes it difficult to hold shape and air fry properly.
  • Cook for 6 minutes and check, if not cook in intervals of 2 minutes for maximum of 4 minutes. Totally it should not exceed 10 minutes
